Created stand alone viewers that had illuminated promotions inside

The challenge here was designing and creating that iconic coin op viewer “look” but not actually work like a viewer.  When someone looked through these viewers they didn’t see what they were looking at but rather the FUTURE of what they were looking at.  This was promoting the upcoming remodel of the NY NY Casino.  This was accomplished by putting an illuminated piece of art inside the viewer showing the future construction.  The optics were a challenge.  To create a FIXED FOCUS optics system that would keep the artwork in focus.  In addition we had to make the entire unit self contained with no external power source so they could be moved around and placed anywhere around the casino grounds.  We accomplished this by lighting them with sunlight during the day and charging a battery with a solar cell that would then trigger internal lighting at dusk.
